Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Roni Biran, who makes FlightChat. By tapping Start Chatting or otherwise using the app, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use FlightChat.

These terms add to Apple's Standard License Agreement for apps from the App Store.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

FlightChat is for people traveling together, often families with children. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Don't send anything that:

  • harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone
  • attacks people for their race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age
  • is sexually explicit, or sexualizes anyone under 18 in any way
  • shows or encourages violence, self-harm or illegal activity
  • impersonates someone else or tricks people
  • is spam, or that you don't have the right to share

Only share photos, videos and files of other people when they're happy for you to do so.

Blocking and reporting

  • Block: in a one-on-one chat, tap ⋯ then Block or Report, or long-press someone's message and tap the hand. You stop seeing their messages, and they can't message you. You can unblock people in Settings.
  • Report: choose Report and Block. Your email app opens with a report to biomass-65-jumbo@icloud.com. If you're offline, it's sent once your phone is back online.

We'll reply to every report within 24 hours of receiving it. Because FlightChat has no servers or accounts, we can't read your chats, delete messages from other people's phones, or ban anyone. We rely on the report you send, and when content may be illegal or someone may be in danger, we may pass the report to the authorities.

If you feel unsafe on board, tell a crew member straight away.

Your group and your messages

  • Only share your group code with people you know. Anyone with the code can join your group chat.
  • You're responsible for what you send. Messages you send stay on the other phones in your group, and you can't take them back.
  • You keep ownership of what you send. You give the people you send it to permission to view and keep it in FlightChat.

Children

Children under 13, or under the minimum age where they live, may use FlightChat only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians decide who their child can talk to by choosing the group code.

Safety and airline rules

  • Follow the crew's instructions and your airline's rules about using devices, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  • FlightChat only works when phones are close together, and messages can be delayed or lost. Never rely on it in an emergency.

FlightChat Pro

FlightChat is free. FlightChat Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase that lets you start Backgammon, Crazy Eights and Gin Rummy; anyone can join a game you start without it. It isn't a subscription and doesn't renew.

  • Apple sells and charges for Pro under the App Store's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • With Family Sharing, members of your family group can use Pro too.
  • On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling, tap Restore Purchases in Settings. Buying and restoring need an internet connection; after that, Pro works offline.
  • If Apple refunds a purchase, Pro is turned off again on the phones that used it.

The app is provided as is

FlightChat is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We don't promise that it will always work, that messages will arrive, or that it's free of bugs. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for anything people send you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and describe important changes in the app's release notes. If you keep using FlightChat after that, you agree to the new terms. You can stop using FlightChat at any time by deleting it.
